The Ostional National Wildlife Refuge prevents construction on the shoreline.

There are three main entrances:
- North Guiones
- Central Guiones
- South Guiones

The Nosara Civic Association maintains over 9 km of public trails.

Most paths are shaded by trees.
A new project called Senderos de Nosara is expanding the trail network.

- 1 to 2 minutes in some properties
- 4 to 5 minutes from central Guiones
- 5 to 7 minutes from North Guiones

Walking rules you need to know
This is a protected area.
There are rules to follow:
- No cars, ATVs, or motorcycles on the beach paths
- No pets inside the refuge
- Restricted access at night during turtle nesting
These rules protect wildlife, especially sea turtles.
